abstract = {The aim of experiments was to assess the health of seeds of 6 cultivars of oat (5 yellow-seed cultivars and 1 brown-seed cultivar). The fungal infestation of the seeds was analysed and the content of mycotoxins was determined. The study was conducted on oat seeds harvested in Kopaszewo in 2011 and 2012. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA – enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Veratox tests were used to determine the content of mycotoxins in the flour from the oat seeds. Deoxynivalenol was found in all the samples (35–247 ppb). The content of HT-2 toxin, and T-2 ranged 12–215 ppb. There were differences in the infestation of the oat seeds included in the study in terms of the percentage of infested caryopses and the number of species of fungal pathogens, which were isolated. The grain of Rajtar cultivar was infested the least and the content of the deoxynivalenol was the smallest as compare to other cultivars. The content of mycotoxins did not exceed the limits for cereal seeds established by the European Union. Badano ziarno owsa zebrane w latach 2011–2012 w Kopaszewie. Zawartość mikotoksyn w mące uzyskanej z pobranego ziarna oznaczano metodą immunoenzymatyczną ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) przy użyciu testów Veratox. We wszystkich próbach stwierdzono obecność deoksyniwalenolu i wynosiła ona 35–247 ppb.
