abstract = {The soil macrofauna of urban lawns consists of species which, depending on the location, represent from 7 to 10 families of arthropods (Arthropoda), and earthworms (Lumbricidae.) The core members are: ants Formicidae, carab beetles Scarabaeidae, click beetles Elateridae and crane flies Tipulidae. The density of macrofauna on the lawns chosen for the study varied due to environment al factors, methods of grass maintenance, floristic environment and the age of lawns. The communities of noxious macrofauna were composed of Agriotes lineatus L., Amphimalion solstitiale L., Melolontha melolontha L., Tipula paludosa Meig., Hemicrepidius niger L., Agriotes segetum L. and Arctia caja L., and their foraging activity evidently deteriorated the aesthetic quality of lawns. The analysis showed a positive correlation between higher soil temperature and the occurrence of Carabidae, and higher carbon content and the abundance of Tipulidae, Noctuidae, Elateridae and Staphylinidae. Zespół szkodliwej makrofauny stanowiły natomiast: Agriotes lineatus L., Amphimalion solstitiale L., Melolontha melolontha L., Tipula paludosa Meig., Hemicrepidius niger L., Agriotes segetum L. i Arctia caja L., a ich żerowanie ewidentnie pogorszyło wygląd estetyczny trawnika. Analiza wykazała dodatnią korelację między wyższą temperaturą gleby a występowaniem Carabidae oraz wyższą zawartością węgla a liczebnością Tipulidae, Noctuidae, Elateridae i Staphylinidae.},
